Last Sunday, I met a friend for lunch at noon at Local Foods located in downtown Austin, Texas. He suggested Local Foods after visiting their Houston, Texas location, and I was excited to try a new spot in downtown Austin, my home. I parked on the street since there is free parking all day Sunday; if you visit on other days, you can try to find meter parking or there are parking garages in the area. At noon, the restaurant was only about half full, and there was no wait to order. I had read other reviews on Google Maps and seen that the chicken sandwich was highly recommended; however, the menu is extensive and includes many healthy options including salads. For about $20, I ordered the chicken sandwich, which came with two market sides (I chose the homemade pickles and chips with Old Bay seasoning). This was expensive but worth it! A friend took me here as they're a fan of this place and I'm now a fan too!! The chicken sandwich was perfect. I loved how everything tasted together. The soup was also very good and hearty. Everything tasted very nourishing and felt good eating things that try to be seasonal.
