Must Try Dishes
At La Condesa in Austin, Texas, the must-try dishes are the El Cubico, a smoky cocktail concoction made with tobacco-infused reposado tequila, the deliciously hearty Costillas de Res, which are beef short ribs braised in a spicy adobo sauce, and the refreshing and tangy Ceviche Tropical. The Hongos Huarache, a flatbread topped with wild mushrooms, is a treat for vegetarians, while the Tacos Al Pastor, filled with marinated pork, is a twist on the traditional street food. You should also make room for the Almendrado dessert, a melt-in-your-mouth almond cake paired with a scoop of chocolate-hazelnut ice cream.

Great service, the food was a very nice treat, the huitlacoche huarache was outstanding! And you can’t go wrong pairing it with an ice cold Mexican Coke!
Based on reviews, I was not expecting to have the best experience. Our party sampled a number of dishes, we felt the food was very good. Drinks were fantastic. If you’re expecting a “typical” Mexican restaurant that piles a ton of cheese and shredded chicken onto tortillas, this place is not for you. No chips and salsa here either. I think your expectations coming in will set the tone for your experience
I had a great experience here! Went with a large group and we had many plates to share. The service was prompt for our party. The classic margarita was very well done. The street corn is amazing - this is a must. The rotisserie chicken is amazing as well - very light and flavorful. The churros were INSANELY good. Some of the best churros I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is amazing as well and has a great backstory. Only reason for 4 stars is the cost of the meal was higher, but that’s a downtown pricing.
