My brother and I ate here on a weekday evening. It wasn’t too crowded and the outdoor seating was very pleasant. we had a side order of falafel‘s for an appetizer. We both had the Nazareth kebab for an entrée. The service was fast and friendly. The food was very good. And it was fun to watch the staff use the oven. Highly recommended.
Lil' Shalom is a great place for comfort Mediterranean food. Their Pitas are fresh, the Hummus and Falafel are delicious but the star of the show is their Moroccan Carrot! The place is very conveniently located and walking distance from other popular Downtown Portland spots like Pioneer Square and Powell's Books. This also means parking could be a little difficult in the area. I love their outdoor seating which is very peaceful. We usually get the Lil' Shalom plate which is a nice platter of their signature items and usually enough for 2 (with a small appetite). Highly recommend!
Good food, diverse menu. We had the lamb shawarma and chicken schnitzel, both well flavored but I enjoyed the lamb the most. Also got the mejadara lentil and rice plate. They did ask to see vaccination status in order to eat inside which was nice, and surprisingly all too rare around here. There were heated booths outside that started to fill soon after we got there, indoor seating is very limited.
