Las Islitas Mariscos

We came here 40 min prior to closing my kids food was great. The server was friendly my kid loved the pineapples seafood. My daughter loved the fried shrimp my husband got the parrillada for us two he wished they added salt or a little seasoning to the mojarra prior to frying didn't get the filete empabizadod or the pulpo in out plate at all they must've forgotten them which is why I added 3 stars. I have never liked camarones Ala Diablo or al ajo so I can't give an honest opinion on those but my husband said the al MOJO de ajo needed a little seasoning.

We walked in and waited to be sat but no hostess came out. The sign said "Wait to be Seated". Then someone, whom I thought was a waitress, waved us in. She was just a regular customer playing the jukebox that was blaring loud Spanish music. Her group, at one of the tables, were celebrating their friend's birthday and were intoxicated, and singing at the top of their voices. We couldn't hold a conversation, we had to shout to be heard. Finally a waitress showed up with menus and took our drink order. Another 40 minutes later, after having to listen to the loud music and singing, the waitress brought out one plate of food, room temperature, not hot, then 10 minutes later my order was brought out. My fried shrimp was so overcooked it was dark brown, and flavorless. My friend's shrimp was floating in a very spicy sauce, almost inedible. Very noisy restaurant, too expensive for mediocre food, atmosphere, and service. Will never go back. I do not recommend.

So I leave a lot of good reviews but this place it just wow! We got the shrimp ceviche, oysters, fried red snapper and fried mojarras topped with octopus scallops and shrimp. We also both got the margarita bulldog which is basically a Corona rita but we got on the rocks not frozen, came with a full size corona not the tiny ones! The ceviche was so good and fresh, a lot of shrimp, well worth the price, plenty of hot sauce options to spice it up for any palette including 3 different habanero sauces. Both whole fishes were fried perfectly, crunchy, tender, seasoned well. I ate one half and was so proud I thought I finished it just to realize there was another half to this fish so we both had to take ours home ???? but iv never been so excited for leftovers! Even just the beans and rice paired so well with the spicy sauce from the mojarras, the entire experience was one of the best iv had for a while. Friendly service, they do not rush you at all, very laid back environment with good music
