Lalibela Restaurant

Going to start by letting you know I’ve never ate at an Ethiopian restaurant before, so know that while reading the review. Service was good. Nothing exceptional, but adequate. Place seemed quite run down, but some “hole in the wall” places that seem run down can be quite good. Won’t make the food bad, just letting you know you don’t need to dress up. ;) Anyhow, I got a mixed platter, and I’m not all sure what was on it. The meat (I assume goat) was seasoned and cooked well and had a nice bite to it. Most everything else, I found to be fairly bland, considering it’s clear they know how to jazz things up. The only thing o really did not care for at all, was the injera. Was not a fan of those spongy rolled things. Now, keep in mind, I’ve heard this place is good, and some of the reasons I may have not cared for things was due to the ethnical differences as opposed to quality if I had a true taste for Ethiopian. Lalibela never disappoints. The food is incredibly good and the staff is very nice. Ethiopian food is like a warm huh. We usually get the beef mahberoch and it totally fills up two people for less than $20.

I've berm wanting to try this restaurant. I had the veggie combo and my son had one of the lamb dishes. Food was excellent and we will be back!
