Lakeside Bar + Grill

Had a delicious brunch on Sunday, 9/25. The menu accommodated non meat eaters and carnivores. The view was amazing and so was our server. He didn't miss a beat and the Bottomless mimosas were a hit. The issue was with Valet and parking at 1:30 pm. The valet asked me to get my valet pass stamped at the desk. I went inside and asked the front desk lady to validate my parking as i was leaving from brunch and showed the receipt. She asked how my experience was as I stated the same as above. She proceeded to state that I needed to pay for parking. I've eaten at thousands of Marriott properties just for the restaurants without staying and have never had to pay for parking. Parking was always validated in that instance. I'm a Marriott lifetime platinum status member so this was a shock to me. I even asked the young lady at the desk was that the policy for customers just patronizing the restaurant to pay for parking at the same rate as an overnight guest and she said, yes. I let her know that

Took this on a recommendation from a nearby local. The hotel is quaint and wonderful. Very eclectic. Had a wonderful intimate lunch, food was ok, staff was great.

About ten years ago this was an independently owned and operated boutique hotel. The decor was British colonial. The service was exemplary. They had a separate lounge and a formal dining room called the Plantation Room. On Friday and Saturday nights the lounge featured a piano player, Jeff, who sang and had the crowd participate in musical games. My wife and I were treated like royalty there on our first anniversary. While we were in the lounge enjoying Jeff's entertainment the hotel manager had chocolates, bottle of champagne, and rose petals placed in our room complimentary. Since then the hotel has been purchased by Marriott. The interior was redecorated and it's nowhere near the same. While the service is still very good, because of the change of staff they are not exemplary. The quality of the meals is good but again not the same. We had Easter Sunday brunch just a few days ago and while again the food was good it is not the same quality as it used to be. And als
