Downtown Diner Celebration

First time in Celebration, FL and stopped to grab a late breakfast at this place. Our greeter, in the yellow hostess shirt, was less than enthusiastic about helping us get a table. She asked for my number and evidentially after entering it wrong in her system, she proceeds to tell me I gave her a non-working number after seeming frustrated. That was how we started our experience. Our wait was approximately 30 minutes so we decided to go for a walk. Upon returning, we stood by the front door waiting to get our text. The yellow shirted hostesses saw us standing in the doorway but none of them guided us to what we later learned was two waiting area tables that were empty. It wasn’t until the lady behind the counter asked us to move from the bar area since we were obstructing the flow of traffic into the restaurant and asked us to sit at the waiting tables. The kids Chocolate Chip Pancakes were massive! There were chocolate chips inside and on top on the pancakes. Hubby got the Biscuit and Gravy as well as ordered the Bacon Bagel Sliders. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and get something I’ve NEVER ordered or even heard of before, the Fresh Berry Dutch Baby. The pancakes were average, but our daughter loved them since there was chocolate in them. Hubby was disappointed in the Biscuit and Gravy because there was no meat in the gravy, the biscuit was clearly house made and that was good. He actually ended up only eating the Bagel Sliders (which he enjoyed) and saving the Biscuit and Gravy to bring home so we could “fix” it and add sausage . He said he would not have ordered it if he knew there was no meat in the gravy. For someone who has never had a Dutch Baby, I had no clue what to expect. Wow, if you are hungry you need to be here. They offer great choices for Breakfast and Lunch. I had the Dutch Baby with strawberries and blueberries. It is a plate size very lite pancake and it was delicious and impressive. Others in my party had the Beef and cheddar sandwich made with prime rib with crinkle cut fries they couldn't stop bragging on how tender the meat was. All four enjoyed everything we had including the diner atmosphere. Will definitely be back. The service was also amazing. A++++++++
