Laan Thai Restaurant

Coming from an Asian cooking background, I'm pretty picky when it comes to Thai food. We went there for lunch today and the owner was very pleasant. Between the 3 of us girls, we ordered pad thai, drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, som tam, pho, and the assorted appetizers. EVERYTHING was so good. We didn't finish them all obviously, the portion size is very pleasing, and did take them home for later. Som tam was amazing! It was just as I ordered it. Fried rice had raisins, cashews, and pineapples which was very accommodating to the flavor of the rice. The drunken noodles was superb! The basil made a huge difference in the taste where others lack. Pho had a nice calm flavor to it, but i think it's what you add in your bowl that is a personal ending touch (limes, Sriracha, bean sprouts, chili oil, fish sauce...etc) This is close to home and I'm so happy to have gone there. We will go there often now that we've had a little taste of the new place since change of ownership.

Incredible food! E ordered the Pad Thai and Mixed Vegetables with seafood. Moved to UT a year ago and am pleased to have finally found A Thai restaurant that meets my D. C. standard. Don't miss out!

Update: We have now had the chance to eat in the restaurant a couple of times and it is an amazing spot! The food is so good that we constantly crave it and this is a new go to on our list of restaurants in the Ogden area. This restaurant is excellent! My wife and I shared the drunken noodles and crab wontons to go and the food was exceptional! Food was prepared to go in a way that helped it to travel well. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and the staff/owners are so friendly. We will definitely be coming back here with friends and family again and again!
