A family style restaurant, food is okay, not the best not the worst as my friend said. Street parking. Happy hour from 2pm to 6pm everyday.
I needed a 1/2 star option to give Kouraku a 3.5 star review. The food is ok, I have been eating here for ages and their menu has always been consistent. I like Mabo Ramen so I tend to order it and it’s not as good as when I original started coming here but it’s pretty decent. The geso fry is always a favorite with us - we love our squid legs! ????. Their little kitty-faced wait-bot helper was cute and gimmicky. We got a kick out of it! This place a whole in the wall and small compared to the Japanese place full of people across the street but I think if you’re in the area and looking for a quick meal this is a good option!
The Melon Soda was super tasty! Didn’t know what to expect at first but everything was so good! Lots of love for this place. The omelette with gravy and fried rice (that all the reviews were recommending) was so much better than I thought it would be. I didn’t think I would like it based on the pictures, but it’s much firmer texture than it looks. Great pairing I never would have tried normally. Plus it’s a huge helping, definitely could serve two. I couldn’t get a good picture of the robot waiter that they had, but it was so cute! Definitely worth the trip, and I’ll be back again next time I’m in little Tokyo.
