King Wah Restaurant

King Wah opens at 10 am so we lined up outside at 9 am (it gets packed on the weekends). We were first in line and first to be seated. Food came out slow and the popular dishes were always swooped up immediately after leaving the kitchen. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant and not able to get all our usual dishes which was a bummer. The dim sum is tasty and probably the only reason for a 3 star and not a lower rating.

Sub par quality dim sum for a restaurant. Not a lot of options. Everything was extra salty. Turnip cake has a funny taste and barely contain any turnip. Shrimp dumplings had this weird opaque color skin, not translucent. Wouldn't eat here even if I had no other options. No condiments on the table, you'd have to ask for it. Chairs covered in stains. Tea pot covered in stains. Cups are cracked and chipped. The server that brought carts around rolled her eyes at us because we didn't want any of the disgusting stuff on her cart. It is not cheap either. 5 items for $28+. If you are used to Koi Palace quality, don't bother with this place. The only saving grace was that our waitress was very nice.

Pretty decent dim sum restaurant, not the best of the best, but a good go to for regular weekend tea. You'll find your standard menu of plates here, haven't noticed a particular signature dish that stands out. Dinner is again ok, but nothing special. Generally good enough for a family style dinner on a whim or for a event.
