Kale Me Crazy | Health Food Restaurant Brookhaven Atlanta

It was really an uncomfortable experience. I don’t know that I would recommend going here if you are black. I felt unwelcome and stereotyped by the seemingly cashier or manager’s actions and her calling me “mad”. The kale salad was dry and kind of bitter so I tried to make it work by asking for dressing. Another issue in the beginning was while placing my order I asked for hummus with gluten free pita to go with my kale salad and matcha. But she said corporate doesn’t allow her to serve it without the salad which included feta. I explained I am vegan and gluten free. Every time I asked a question she would answer in a matter of fact manner. I asked for the Wi-Fi because it was my first time at that location and she rolled her eyes and pointed to a sign as if I should have known or was bothering her. The Wi-Fi did not work and since the food and service were not working out I asked for a refund and let her know I felt like I was bothering her by being there and it as though she did not

The food was most excellent. I had the Grounded Smoothie and Açaí Bowl. Reasonable price. However, the guy with tattoos who works there was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude which ruined the whole experience.

I only gave three stars because of the prices. I guess you have to pay to eat healthy. I ordered a kale salad, added grilled chicken it was $18 and I wanted to add a smoothie but it would’ve brought my total to $28 that’s too much for an hour lunch break. The salad was okay.
