Joe's Crab Shack

This restaurant is located in Old Sacramento right on the Sacramento River adjacent to the Tower bridge. Mostly out of towners and tourists will come here because it's very close to the embassy suites hotel. However, you will see locals here too such as myself. I was looking for somewhere different and fun to take my family. My children really enjoy the atmosphere and the service was excellent! Our server was so attentive. I forgot his name. The children's menu is very decently priced and they both got a drink for $2 that had a plastic tiger shark in it. They loved it! The shark is filled with grenadine and The kids poured into the drink and the waiters cry, "Shark in the water!" Happy hour drinks and food are great. I got a watermelon mojito at the recommendation of our server and it tasted like candy. We loved people watching walking below on the river deck.

What is worse than the food is the service. The hamburger bun was hard, food tasted disgusting, service was so slow, went to the bar to get our own drinks. It was also very warm inside, on this hot day, we were looking forward to cold ice water and nice air conditioning. Do not go here. The only nice thing is the view.

I set up a reservation for my wife’s birthday 3 weeks in advance. I get there 20 minutes early and had to wait 30 minutes past my reservation time to even be seated. We were a small party of 4 and placed our orders promptly. We then sat around watching everyone who sat after us with bigger parties receive there food. When I complained they promptly brought our food out. And guess what it was cold!!!!! All 4 plates cold! I then spoke to manager who had our meals remade and they came out warm. I’ve eaten here several times and it was excellent. I then took my check up to manager so he could take care of us like he said he would and wouldn’t you know it, Full price for warm food and bad service. Total food and tip was $278 and not to mention it Was my wife’s birthday and I even said that to waitress. I’m seriously disappointed, aggravated and I hope someone from the company that cares reaches out to make this right!!!!!!!! On another note the vibe was excellent even though the experienc
