Really disappointed in service and food today . Been going to Jason's delivery for many years. The location in North Arlington is not the best anymore. The cashier acted like she was annoyed or did want to be there. Her attitude was not pleasant. Soup was Luke warm. Sandwich was just ok. Restaurant was not very full compared before when it was booming. I see why now with employee acting that way. I even ask for a drink 3 times before she finally added to my order. Not happy, will not return to that location.
Sweet tea tasted fermented. Tomato basil soup is chunky I didn't like that about it. Prefer my soup to be smooth nothing chewable in it. I got the carmela first. I didn't care for it. Not very flavorful to me. Got the Italian poboy. It was pretty good but if I were to order it again I'd say light on the mustard. The loaf it was on was great though. Soft and chewy. Texas cake was cold. Icing really sweet. I saved it for home. Warmed it in the microwave for 15 seconds with a scoop of ice cream it was much better. Something about warming it knocked some of the sweetness down.
We have always enjoyed Jason's Deli. Like most places, their prices have gone up and portions seem smaller. The salad bar is no longer a good value since it is now one bowl/trip only. All that money for one trip?? I asked the cashier why they changed it and she only said "the pandemic". I didn't question her since she appeared to be having a bad day and was not nice. How does this make any sense other than they are cheaping out? It can't be for health reasons since a clean plate was always required for multiple trips. My Jason's dining experiences will be few going forward.
