Jackie's Restaurant Southern Style Cooking

My husband and I were invited to dinner by friends from Smithfield, VA to wish us well as we are about to relocate to Myrtle Beach, SC. We selected Jackie’s because of what we had heard. We were not disappointed. The fish, shrimp and chicken were hot, crispy, and delicious. And the Mac and Cheese was just right. And the collard greens, oh my! I could go on and on about the food. But our waitress, Crystal J provided outstanding service. She was attentive, accommodating and very pleasant. Hats off to Jackie’s on Laburnum!

Jackie’s is HANDS DOWN the best soul food in the city. Everything is always spot on. Cornbread is thicker than my skull, some of the best I’ve ever tasted and perfectly moist. Candied yams need no sales pitch. I always get the fried whiting and it’s excellent. I generally smother them in collard greens, hot sauce and cornbread, yet the flavor and seasoning of each item stands out. No need to try and add some extra s&p after the fact like at most places. The effort is there and shines through.

Hello, everyone ,it was my first time at Jackie's restaurant. I had the Sunday buffet enjoyed that southern home cooking. I love the jazz. It made the atmosphere relaxed. They also have a full menu of other great items to choose from. Kid-friendliness: They do have seating for children. Wheelchair accessibility: I did see a family coming with someone in a wheelchair.
