Islands Restaurant The Shops at Mission Viejo

As far as mid range burger places go, this place is great.  Very affordable, hefty portion sizes, accommodating wait staff.  Bree is our favorite bartender, she does an incredible job and takes such good care of us.  This is one of our favorite spots to go with friends and family

I came to have lunch with the family and was looking forward to trying out their food However, had a horrible experience. We came in at 3:35pm and waited to be seated, we did get seated failrly quickly(10 minutes). Our first server took our order and mentioned our food was in the oven before she left. Joy (our new server) came to us at 4:20pm and asked us if we were ready to order. We were confused and told her we had already put our order in. At 4:30 we asked joy what the status of our food was and she said the chef didn't have our order and that she will put it in for us as a "rush". At 4:45pm our food was still not out so we told Joy to cancel our order as they took too long and my child was hungry. We saw other people that came after us eat and leave. I have never experienced this in any restaurant.

Food poisoning - I ordered an impossible (plant based) burger and they gave me a regular beef patty. I realized it halfway and didn't finish it but still had food poisoning for the next couple of days. Outdoor seating is also pretty dirty, saw a bunch of ants and food all over the floor. I think they're understaffed. Beer and fries were good.
