Irish Ale House

This was certainly a dive bar. The staff was great. They worked hard to accommodate our enormous group. The prices were imminently reasonable. The food, though, was not anything special. Though, to my point about the staff: The kitchen staff worked hard to accommodate GF members of our party. Agreeing to make grilled chicken wings special for them. The locals were a lot of fun, too!

Checked google reviews and yelp for a place within a mile of hotel for a beer and a decent pub style meal. Irish Ale House appeared to have rave reviews and the pictures seemed very appealing. I got the Steak and Cheese with Truffle fries which was a $18 special. My buddy got a Reuben. Both extremely dissatisfied. My steak and cheese was a steak um in a giant roll with cheese wiz and the truffle fries seemed like crinkle fries out of a bag from Big Y. Very mislead by other reviews. Bartender and beer were great. Oh.. and it cost me an extra $6 bucks as credit machine was down and had to pay cash after charges from in house ATM.

Went here for the poutine and we were not disappointed! Really excellent fries, and extremely friendly service. The chef brought us our food and was so nice and considerate. Relaxed bar atmosphere, but they have bigger tables too if you come for a meal. Parking is a little tricky but there are a few on-street options directly next door. Reasonable prices and a good range of pub food.
