The service was terrible. Toast was hard as a rock. Bacon was burnt and the sandwhich was put together sloppy. Fries were cold. Chicken wasn't very good. Food came late. Table next me ordered ate and left before I even got my food. Worst of all I don't think they take covid serious. Tables were definitely less than 6 feet apart and didn't have dividers. The server took the pen from my table and placed it directly on the table next to mine. Only 1 hand sanitizer in the whole place that I could see. 3 bad restaurant experiences in KC so far out of 4.
Today was the second time I came to eat here. While I should have written this review already, I wanted to wait to see if the first time was just a fluke. It was not. I am literally writing this review while still inside the restaurant! The service … was excellent, the perfect balance between taking care of me and leaving me alone to enjoy my meal. Extremely polite, correct in everything I ordered, and great attitudes! The kitchen …. I want to focus this review on the kitchen and it’s behind the scenes staff in particular because both times my food was perfect! Hot, crispy country fried steak with the right amount of gravy. Eggs cooked exactly over medium as requested. And the pancakes were beautiful golden with a light crisp on top. I hope this review gets acknowledged and the staff here is credited for their great job. I will always come back here now and it’s marked down as my first choice to have my morning meal. THANKS YALL! IHOP always has the best waitresses and waiters. Coffee is always hot and food always hits the spot. This location is better than most.
