IHOP

I stopped there this morning with my two kids after an early appointment. We got there and were seated right away waitress came and took our orders. Our order was very basic just 3 different kinds of pancakes. We sat and waited and waited for 53 minutes. The waitress was walking by and I asked if she could give me an eta for our food, I was like my kids have school. She said hang on, we heard her talking to the chef and the chef was like I don't have orders for table 16. They were both speaking to each other loudly back and forth, him saying he doesn't have it her saying she sent it a while back and she mentioned all of our 3 different pancakes. She came back to the table next to us and shouted at us saying 5 MINUTES! Food came, I had to take mine to go as we did not have time to eat. The kids ate quickly. Visited this IHOP on Saturday, around brunch, and experienced nothing short of the most terrible customer service I’ve ever had. I understand that breakfast joints are typically busy up until the afternoon, but considering they were well staffed, quality service shouldn’t be unexpected. Once seated, I ordered a coffee that took nearly 10 minutes to receive. The waitress then left and came back after another 10 minutes, despite our menus being closed to signal that we know what to order. Order was placed and never received. I waited 45 minutes for the waitress to return to tell us that our order would be placed as soon as the remaining orders were finished. Keep in mind that several tables that came in after us were now receiving their food. Left the place and haven’t returned since.

This is my last review of this I-hop. This is the last visit. Both my wife and I ordered omelettes with American cheese substituted for cheddar. Naturally, we both had cheddar on our omelettes. We were sitting with an easy view of the kitchen. The waitress asked the cook if he substituted American for cheddar and he shakes his head no and grabs my omelette, does something, pops it in the microwave to melt the cheese. After taking a couple of bites I realize that the cook took the cheddar off of the top, put American cheese on top... inside was cheddar. The waitress had a bit of an attitude, when I told her she could take it back and remove it from the bill. She never came back to the table, so we went to the front to pay for my wife's half eaten food, only to hear our same waitress say they made another order wrong. No apologies were given. This is my last time going to the Maplewood I-hop.
