My wife and I ate at Hunter-Gatherer tonight. My wife had the Brisket, Side of Collared Greens and potato salad. Brisket was tender and tastey. Sides were delicious. I had the Ribeye. Cooked Medium Rare topped with bacon and mushrooms, side of esparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was fantastic. We shared the Mac & Cheese with salad. Mac and cheese came out piping hot - Crispy on top and soft and cheesy below, Salad was fresh and spectacular. I recommend this place to everyone.
Excellent, low key place to enjoy a few pints of ale. The chef’s steak special is one of the best values in town. The ESB and Pale ale are my favorite.
It's a bit of a misnomer- one neither has to hunt nor gather one's food at this establishment. The meals are likewise not the subsistence fair one might expect from the name but high end pub stuff. Really good craft beer - I had a Flanders Red that I'm still trying to parse out the nuances of several hours later. Great place.
