First I’m from Hawaii so this is not what a kamaaina would expect from a place called a Hawaiian grill. That said this place does really well at poke bowls, tempura, grilled shrimp, and miso soup! Don’t expect frills. There is no lacquered bento box ????, just several plastic boxes with your California roll, salad, etc. But everything was ono. Oh, the tempura sauces were Kikkoman soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and yum yum sauce. But they didn’t have the real tempura sauce. If you want L&L Hawaiian Grill or Aloha Grill type food,Ike in Hawaii and California, you’ll have to go to Sarasota. Hawaii Grill and Sushi does not have kalua pig, lau lau, butter fish, chicken katsu or mac salad.

Delicious! Got a chicken bowl with ginger dressing and ponzu dressing and everything was so flavorful! The toasted cashews were such a great addition! The salmon poke bowl was also great! I’m obsessed!
