Happy Sandwich Caribbean Cuisine

This is a small store , but you won’t be disappointed. I had order curry chicken with rice and collard greens, and when I said it was delicious…. It was delicious ????, I’m a little upset that I ate all my food before I took a picture lol, but my word is true, come on over to Happy Sandwich Caribbean on south seventh street. you will be happy, and leave with a smile, just cause the food is great and Ms. Carol is a friendly person????????.

This review is long overdue, so forgive my lengthyness! My first experience with this establishment???????? and Miss Carol???? was Spiritual and Divinely Ordained????. (Nothing "spooky" just phenomenal! It was last summer, an evening with a couple hours to kill, a starving belly, and 1 thought: (I want some "home-cooked" food). Happy Sandwich was an unexpected treat, like an oasis in the dessert. This is why I say this was long overdue... First of all, don't let the name mislead you. Although this is most definitely a HAPPY place, its certainly not only about sandwiches any more. It may be one reason we may all have been missing out on the BEST-EST Caribbean, down-home, "back to deh islands mon" experiences here in Allentown & the Lehigh Valley. That and the fact that we pro'lly just be flying past going to where ever, thru the lower side of 7th Street (past the Statue & Walnut St) in Allentown, PA. She's located on the left hand side by the vaccuum store. What caught my attention were

Ms. Carol knows great food, hospitality, and so much more. On a 10 day road trip stopping in Allentown. Many places were closed or oddly quiet for a Saturday evening so we ended up here, and thank goodness as this will be a highlight of our trip and we will return. I had “doubles” because the rokis were sold out for the day. We were given samples before making our order to make sure we liked it. We didn’t like it …. We loved it! The grapefruit happy juice hit the spot and is unlike anything else. Ms. Carol’s garlic sauce could be bottled and sold. Because we were there at the end of the day, and Ms. Carol won’t let things go to waste, we also sampled cabbage and chicken. And if you love okra, as I do, please taste the okra here. Funny how a random stop can become one of the highlights of your vacation.
