Griddle House

Extremely racist. Tried to go a few years back gave every excuse not to let us in door. would not let me and black wife in door. White friend was with us and suggest we leave because we weren't welcome. We are from up north and traveling down south to experience that still sticks with me today. I'm here again visiting and passed the restaurant and finally decided to write the review

Nothing fancy— just a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit with cheese grits. They don’t skimp on the butter. Sooo good! Good food, hot coffee, friendly service. I love it here. Really enjoyed breakfast at this Griddle House. It has a homey atmosphere and staff is friendly and very receptive. Food was delicious, freshly made, and my son and I cleaned up our plates. I’m from NY and wish I could find this restaurant with the same staff, patrons, and everything else in my neck of the woods. Bacon was crispy, eggs were moist without being runny, grits were tasty, and my coffee was just perfect! If you’re in the area or passing through make sure to check them out! You won’t be disappointed! Will definitely return. Ext time I visit Birmingham.
