I work in this area and a co-worker referred me to this Chinese restaurant. I was disappointed with the food I got today. I ordered beef with garlic sauce. actually it was a mix of the vegetables with very few beef pieces. all the vegies look old like left overs, especially the broccolis. they are yellow and soft. it just looked like a mix with the left overs.
**Update 8/30/21 Our new family favorite. The Wor Wonton soup Is delicious . When your in the mood for soup this is the order. The flavor of the broth is like no other. Enjoy *** We have been looking for a good old fashioned Chinese restaurant like the ones we used to eat at when we were growing up. Those of you who grew up in Boyle Heights and East LA might remember the New Formosa café before the owners closed up shop in early 2000’s. Then Paul’s Kitchen in Monterey Park. They closed maybe 10yrs or less ago. I grew up with their delicious dishes. Now in San Gabriel Valley you think I could find at least an average Chinese restaurant well we haven’t. Today I went to Google to find a well rated Chinese restaurant. We discovered Grandview Palace. It’s rated 4.3 Stars of 5. Well let me bend your ear for a bit. The food here is DELICIOUS!! Went around 8:30pm on a Thursday night. Pretty quiet. Place was nice and staff was friendly. Food came out fairly quickly. Kung-pao shrimp was pretty spicy, it had a nice kick to it. Lemon chicken came out looking like a fish filet but it was okay. Cans of drinks.
