Dumplings/dim sum were okay but all other entrees/meats we ordered were not good. Calamari was tasteless and poorly breaded, the fish was odd tasting and the pork belly was very disappointing. Pure fat with barely any meat in it, was pretty much all raw and cold (it arrived cold) except for the skin that was crispy. For some reason the pork belly tasted like duck, which is horrible for me cause I really dislike duck. I don’t plan to return to this establishment.
Surprised to find a good Chinese restaurant in this South San Francisco neighborhood. We were here for a wedding banquet and had a feast. Like a typically Chinese banquet, we had 10 course meal and we were stuffed. However, their food were not typical. They provided not only delicious food but very creative variation from normal Chinese food. Instead of a typical BBQ duck in a banquet, a crispy fried chicken was offered. The skin of the chicken was so crispy with quite tender flavorful meat. Another great dish was the white cod fish. Rather than steamed fish, the restaurant made the cod with a western style of grilling the fish filet with Chinese sauce. The service from this restaurant was efficient. Foods came out fast but paced so the guests had enough time to finish each course before the next. Overall, we were impressed with the food and service, definitely a good place to have a banquet.
I only gave it 4 stars because the parking is bad weekends. It's not their fault but I've given you a heads up. A word to the wise is sufficient. The wait can sometimes be up to 30 - 40 minutes. You know a restaurant is good when one table leaves and the people in line are eyeing it. The dim sum is top notch and so is the service. The wait may not be so bad. Americans wait in line at a theme park. Asians and there guests wait in line to have tea. Same ball game, but in a different park. Parking: Parking is difficult on weekends and there is a wait. Their dim sum is a standout and worth the wait. Lunch is usually served until 3pm. They have vegetarian options. Some dishes have excess sodium and you should tell the wait staff to let the kitchen know to lighten up on it when you order.
