Golden Steer Steakhouse

This was a hidden gem and a great find. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place but it could be a great neighborhood date spot. Wisconsin supper club vibe in a good way. I just had a chicken sammich and fries but it was decent. The steaks looked great and smelled even better. Also i had a typical "Wisconsin" Old Fashioned which was perfect for what it was. The lighting is a little bright which makes it more of an early evening kinda place. A few seats around a small bar for if I'm just getting dinner after work. It's on my radar now and I'll definitely be back.

This is our absolute FAVORITE steakhouse in the Chicago area. It has loyal local customer base and has an old school laid back vibe. The French Onion soup is to die for. The dinner salads come on chilled plates and the steaks are perfection. The two chefs amazingly move around one another in a tiny open kitchen to whip up their magic in the back corner of the dining room. They have something for everyone on the menu offering chicken, steak, seafood, pork chops and burgers. The service is stellar, thanks Heather! We’ve been coming here for years and have never been disappointed.

Old-school” steakhouse here and well worth the visit. Our server, Heather, was friendly and helpful with the menu. The kitchen is open to see the Chefs at work. The two guys in there last night looked well “seasoned” and professional. We were a party of 6. Five of us had beef and one had shrimp. The steaks were all delicious! I tasted the ribs and they were the way I like them…bite off the bone. The sauce was good…slightly sweet. I had the last piece of end-cut Prime Rib and I have to say it was perfect! Tender, seasoned perfectly! One of our group had a medium + cooked Prime Rib that she reported was cooked perfectly. The veggie offering was broccoli and carrots. They were absolutely fresh, steamed, big pieces. A nice side. The Shrimp de Jone eater reported her dish to be slightly heavy on garlic but still very good. There is warm bread (a busser even offered us more). The salad is nice, fresh, and plentiful. A very good baked potato that comes open and loaded with butter and sour cre
