To all the haters out there about the service at Gjelina, well I say BOO to you. We went there twice in three days and both times the service was fantastic, yes they do add the 20% service charge to your bill but it’s worth it. The food is fantastic, highlights are the pizza of course, the char grilled mushroom, tomato pasta with bottarga and best if all the hit date pudding with whisky sauce and ginger ice-cream. Simply superb
My friend and I visited, with a reservation, at 1:30 on a Saturday and while it was busy and our table was small - I really can’t complain. The service did not suffer, in fact it was terrific. The food came out fast and was exceptional. Beyond, in fact! The quality for the price seems fair. It’s a popular place that doesn’t really need my review to succeed. But it’s so good I feel compelled to share that if you’ve heard it is but you wondered if it really did live up to the hype? It does!! Menu is seasonal so they might not have what we ordered when you visit. But we had these items and they were all fantastic: - market greens - chili, garlic and olive oil cauliflower - summer squash - chorizo pizza - spritz
Amazing food! The corn pasta was delicious and we ordered the squash blossom pizza twice. Don't pass on the deserts! Came back for brunch and all dishes were incredible!
