Fritz's

One of the main things we'd heard from friends about Fritz's was "the food is average" or "you don't go for the food". But my wife and I and our daughter went for the first time in late August 2022 and overall everything was great. Obviously it was super busy being a Saturday, but we only waited about 10-15 minutes to get in. Service was quick and mostly friendly, and we thought the food was great (double cheeseburger, strawberry shake, and pork tenderloin sandwich). The fries were just average. Overall a solid first experience. And obviously our daughter loved the trains.

Let me first say that if you're looking for a fun experience during lunch or dinner, this could be the place. A railroad themed restaurant where the trains positioned above your head drop off your food after you order via a corded phone next to the table. This is the only reason it got more than 1 star. However, if you are looking for good food, this is not the place. The burgers are grilled, like steak burgers, thin, and crispy. They were okay. The hotdog is cut into 4 slices, placed on a bun with pickles. The fries were flavorless and terrible. The drinks were fine and a good size. They serve coke and Dr. Pepper products here. I may go back, not for the food. Give me a few years, though.

I was excited to try this place. So when we planned a trip to KC it was the place I took my girls. You could tell the staff didn't want to be there: they weren't friendly, they mumbled instructions so we had to have them repeat multiple times and when ordering they appeared impatient with taking my order. The food was fine. It wasnt amazing but for the price was what I expected. I got the turkey melt with onion rings (sides cost extra) and my family got burgers with fries. The real experience was getting the food delivered via train. That was so much fun! I will probably not go back sadly.
