I wanted to like this place so badly. My wife and I saw it on shark tank years ago and finally made it to one. The food was bland. The sandwich I got was loaded with what should have been delicious guilty pleasures but, it needed more flavor. How does a sandwich loaded with sodium heavy foods leave me feeling like it needs salt? Pop was watered down and the fried oreos were OK. Staff was kind though.
On a Wednesday summer night, this street was bustling. Fat Shack is wedged between 2 bars, so there was lots of commotion outside, but it was pretty chill inside the restaurant. The staff was fun and friendly--the main reason the got 5 stars from me--but since there were only 2 of them, our order for 6 took about 20 minutes to prepare. There's not much seating inside, and with everything being deep-fried, the inside smelt strongly of grease, so we took the food to go. None of the flavors really jumped out. The fries were a bit bland, but the food wasn't bad. Definitely something to eat while hot. This is a great late night option on a cheat day!
