El Rancho Nuevo - Mason

Probably the best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. Food was familiar but everything was done a little differently to elevate it. The restaurant was very clean and well decorated for the theme without being gaudy. The restrooms were very nice. I had chicken/steak fajitas. They raised the bar for me. Absolutely worth going out of your way for. Large pounded thin slices of meat, only one would fit per tortilla. They were grilled perfectly giving a bit of a crunch to them. They had an excellent marinade on them perfect. The only small issue I had was the significant amount of juice/grease in the fajita skillet. This caused the skillet to cool quickly and didn't allow the veggies to get any of the charring that the meat had. I also included a photo of the Pastor tacos my friend got. He said they were excellent although not the best he has experienced.

Not all Mexican restaurants are created equally. I was really pleased with our meal. Salsa is wonderful. Street tacos were great as well. However, the cool part of this place is the atmosphere. If your close stop in it’s worth it.

Wow! This place was so good! Food was fantastic, staff was friendly, atmosphere was fun. Definitely a cut above the typical Mexican restaurant feel, that is so common across the Midwest. The elotes street corn was excellent!! But also very unexpectedly tangy -- actually too tangy for my taste buds unfortunately, I couldn't finish it although I really wanted to! Parking: Tons of easy parking, no problem.
