El Famous Burrito

9/10/23, ~7:45 P.M. The lady serving me my GrubHub order at the pick-up counter was so pleasant & friendly! I wish more people smiled and communicated with others cordially as she does, the world would be a better place. Thank you for your demeanor. The food is usually good but I only get it when I crave it. I like super authentic food, especially Mexican..and El Famous is catered towards an average American customer..which is all good & dandy because this is the environment & market we live in. The food will never compete with the fare I had in the streets of Mexico..that's a given - but alas, it will suffice so long as I'm here. High ratings are mostly due to the service, and the hot salsa..not so much the authenticity of the dishes they serve. Taste on the other hand is fair in its own right..

Food was just all around excellent. Had that authentic feel to it. I ordered the steak taco dinner. The steak was tender and well seasoned, not chewy or dry. The portions were generous. The employees were very friendly, and the restaurant was clean. 10/10 I will come back again soon.

A true Chicago legend just like Harry Carrie, Mayor Daley Jr, Patrick Kane, Michael Jordan or the empire carpet guy. An underdog in a corporate world of fast food offerings. Especially in today's market with Chipotle getting in on the game. It's hard to believe these guys have been around for over 30 years. A local option and now a daily staple in all Chicagoans diets... Can this be traditional Mexican food? What is the true definition of traditional Mexican food can it be el famous burrito? They are the gold standard for Mexican food in the Chicagoland region possibly even the tri-state region. Always a good time to visit el famous burrito. whether it's 9:00am on your way to your attorney's office before your court case or 4:30 am when the corner bar kicks you out again for being loud again.
