El Charro Café

I had been to the El Charro downtown, but I hadn't been to the one on the Northside. We had the vegan stuffed mushrooms and ceviche for appetizers, and they were both so good and fresh. I ordered the seafood enchiladas, and they were great! Our food came out so fast. Definitely a great spot for lunch.

Very good Mexican! We were visiting, but our family that lives in Tucson says that this is the best Mexican they've had while living there! My SIL says it has the best chimichangas she's had (and chimichamgas are kinda her thing ;) ). We all shared combo plates. My favorites were the chicken tacos on flour tortillas. The chicken was SO moist! And the chicken tamales. They had the perfect amount of spice! The chips they served with the salsa and shrimp ceviche were authentic and delicious. They had a nice curtained off area indoors for our party of 40 people! The bathrooms were decorated fun and clean with a baby changing table. The bar had fun drinks and the decorations were charming.

We have been here many times for a reason. The food! We can't find a bad dish on the menu. Sounds like a cliche but it's true. The service has always been done with the utmost professionalism and care to our needs. Can you ask for more? We love this place and will continue to call it our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Tucson area.
