Dynamite Woodfire Grill

I always thought Nebraska had nothing to offer… well Omaha sure had a lot of tough decisions on restaurants tonight and their downtown area has a lot of great looking spots! I ended up picking Dynamite Woodfire Grill, set in the popular “Old Market District”, offers a vibrant dining experience with a focus on dishes over an open flame. The staff was very professional and the food and ambiance was amazing! ✔️Wood Fired Octopus with guajillo chilis, fingerling potatoes, chorizo, cilantro, and radish. ✔️Char Grilled Cauliflower steak, with butternut squash hummus, feta, chimichurri, and lemon.

I am going to start with the positives. Tons of style in both the atmosphere and food presentation. Dynamite disappointed on execution. Started at the lobby bar as restaurant bar is reserved for dinner guests. Okay no big deal. My date ordered a cosmo and the bartender needed a hand on what to do from the cocktail itself to what glass it should be served. Which would have been fine if it tasted like a cosmo. Where our experience degraded was the kitchen. Again presentation was fantastic. Actual flavor of the food was good. But grilled seafood was at room temperature at best. We flagged down Christine the dining room manager who immediately sent someone to remake our entrées. The second time each was only slightly warmer and we ate them. Our server, like everything else at Dynamite was stylish, friendly, and even entertaining. He also was largely unaware or absent when we needed him most. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant. Shout out to Chris our server who did a phenomenal job. In addition all the staff members were very nice. We appreciate the manager stopping by our table to check in. Also got to chat with the chef who gave us recommendations for next time. Everyone in the establishment had a great attitude. Then there was the food. I got the chicken he got the salmon. Both were so amazing. The sides also make the meal and the asparagus and potatoes were both great. I can tell the food is great quality because I don’t feel sluggish or have a tummy ache lol couldn’t have asked for a better date night.
