Dong Hae Korean Grill & Sushi

The food was very good for the most part. The Korean bbq was a highlight of the meal, and the marinated short rib was the best thing we had, incredibly tender and delicious. Also the stir fried rice cakes were amazing, but I really like gochujang. However one of the worse things we got was the squid stir fry I think, the squid was rock hard, although the sauce was good. A lot of the things we got were mediocre to very good. The sushi rolls were mediocre to bad. We got the winter roll and the dragon roll. The winter roll was drowned in spicy mayo and was inedible, the dragon roll was very mediocre. The sashimi was very good, and the salmon and yellowfin tuna, were melt in your mouth tender. We did get a bone in one piece of it though, which we have never experienced before. The service was great and our server seemed very polite and friendly. They even remembered one of our groups birthdays. The restaurant itself felt very incomplete, and the atmosphere was quite bad. It was like it had

Again - food was good and it was a fun experience - probably not something I'd do as a couple. Super expensive in my opinion - as others have said, surcharge for CC and 18% service charge for the BBQ. There were 3 of us and we should have probably done the small instead of the large because we had lots of food.

Dong Hae is a fantastic restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. It is great fun to cook your own food in the center of the table. We usually pick one of us to be the chef for the night, or you may order dishes prepared right off the menu or both. All of the food is very fresh. We love the Kimchi pancake and fried rice on the side with our grill selection. Dong Hae is a family favorite and an easy location on Washington Ave. a block from the Guthrie theater. Five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!! Vegetarian options: They have great vegetables and fried rice and noodles and plentiful vegetarian options for their Korean BBQ grill in center of table and side dishes. Parking: Parking lot right there and street parking for low cost
