Di Palms Bistro American Caribbean

Ah man. Came here twice weeks ago and our breakfast was so good. Recommended the place to friends too and thought of it was a hidden gem. Very pricey but we are willing to pay for good food. I came back today to order takeout and it seems like no one working knew the menu. Our food was prepared completely different from the last 2 times. It was terrible. We just tossed the food and ended up cooking breakfast ourselves. We should have done that from the start. To the restaurant management. Get consistent and ensure all employees know the menu. Your prices aren’t cheap so quality is expected.

I went to Di Palms after passing through, and as I was going inside, everyone walking out had the most amazing smelling food. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries, because I was feeling it and it was the best I’ve had in California. When I go back I have to try there namesake, because if the burger was that good I can imagine the actual Caribbean food.

I would not come here again. The service: was poor, our server wasn’t a rude guy but he was very awkward and didn’t seem to know basic things about waiting tables. He didn’t greet us upon entry, didn’t offer us silverware or napkins, didn’t ask what drinks we want/offer us any water, and didn’t take away our plates or ask if we’re ready for the check. All of which I had to initiate through verbally asking or flagging him down. He also gave us new straws twice, by mistake I guess. The food: we were served a strange appetizer on the house without comment or being told what it was, I had to ask if it was given to us by mistake since there was no explanation on why it was handed to us or what this food consists of. My brown chicken stew was overall good, some chicken pieces were a little dry. However the “steamed vegetable” side dish was really more like several ounces of water when you bite into it, mushy and inedible. We both had to spit it into our napkin because it gushes out and disin
