saw this new spot open up and wanted to try it. never had a patty before, tried the jerk chicken and it was definitely fire so it fits their name. it was very hot too as food should be! also had the jerk chicken tacos. they weren't bad, but could use some sauce on the slaw.
Dat Fire is a small place where you put in your order, but they have a seating area upstairs. I put in an order to-go so I didn't take a look at the seating area. They have a tiny parking lot. I got jerk chicken with collards for my hubby and ox tails with collards for me. The jerk chicken was very tasty all loaded into one foul container with peas and rice, collards and plantains. The ox tails were okay.
Went here for lunch today for the first time. The people were so nice. There was a long line but they kept it moving and entertaining with old school dancehall playing. However.......I hate to say this but, the food was awful. I ordered a small curry chicken meal. The curry chicken was salty with a weird after taste. I don't know if the Rice and Peas was overcooked or undercooked because the rice was mushy but the beans were too hard and crunchy. The plantain was burnt and cabbage had no flavor to it. I am extremely disappointed and I really, really hope this was just an off day. Again, the customer service was extraordinary so I WILL go ahead to show support and update my review once I've had their food again. Hoping gets better next time.????????
