Daruma North Sarasota - Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge

Very beautiful place to visit. Meals are super delicious. Their green tea and soup are out of this world have to try that again. Their crab cakes are mouthwatering. Definitely revisiting.

We did hibachi dining. Service is great and restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately that’s where is stops. Food is bland and lacks meaningful flavor. Portion sizes are fair but food is just very under seasoned. Yum yum sauce is very savory not much sweetness to it. I automatically deducted a star for charging for fried rice as I just find it annoying and unnecessary. Very disappointing for the cost.

Happy to provide my reason: we attended the restaurant in a larger group for our good friend's birthday. Upon being seated, and while we were given our drinks, a glass was dropped and broken on the cook top. We did not complain - accidents happen, but you did not have the courtesy to move us to another table. That was extremely inconsiderate and to be completely honest, it was dangerous. But regardless, it was cleaned and we knew the restaurant was busy so we did not complain or demand to be moved. Later on after we had gotten our food (which was perfectly fine, as was our chef)...our waitress who was seemingly stressed out because it was a busy night and we were a large table ordering a lot of food and drink...took it upon herself to COMPLAIN about our table to the table next to us, who were an even larger party and were drunk. She had apparently told them we were making fun of her and being rude the entire night. Now I can tell you with UTMOST CERTAINTY - that is absolutely FA
