A hidden Escondido gem! The atmosphere is fantastic, incredibly friendly service and delicious food. I was so excited when I first tried Cuscatlan and now its the place I take all of my friends because its not only tasty and filling but also affordable. I would recommend the Chan because it's unique and refreshing. The chipotle chicken pupusa is spicy in the best way and the revueltas is just a classic! I have had their pizza as well and it's phenomenal.
Service here can be really hit or miss. Usually it's the girls who spend all their time in the back and have an attitude, especially if you're picking up because the orders are rarely on time. When we eat here it's better but it can still be incredibly slow even when there's only one or two other tables full here. I like some of the food but I come here less and less because of the service. And this is not a new problem, I've been coming here for years even before the pandemic. Update 10/2022 Against my better judgement I ordered from here again. They got half my order wrong, literally 2 out of 5 items. Never again with this place.
So happy to have found this place. I really enjoy their combination plate that comes with multiple Salvadorian antojitos. See picture. It is a lot but just means you will probably have some left overs for later. Their tamales and horchata are delicious.
