The wait staff is amazing! So attentive and quick. I got a 1/2 hamburger steak and I think it was an issue with the grease and a grill that badly needed scraped. The brown gravy and the steak tasted exactly the same. Like old grease. I think that happens now and then when a place stays as busy as they do. The mashed potatoes were awesome though! The chicken tenders were amazing! Fried perfectly and juicy. Loved them! The atmosphere is not for me, for political reasons...
For years, I have been wanting to try a hubcap burger. The burger itself was amazing. The onion rings were great. Fried pies are served with homemade whipped cream. Everyone should try it at least once. Kid-friendliness: There is a kid menu.
What can you say about this place other than it Is THE PLACE for lunch! In sight of the State Capitol dome, you'll be rubbing shoulders with the HUNGRY here. State lawmakers, law officers, and the public, enjoy the food here - large portions and really good. These are the famous "Hubcap Hamburger" steaks and sides. Huge. Don't miss this place.
