Ok so this review has some bias - I fell in love with the staff. I walked in 15 minutes before close and they told me to make myself at home. They went WAY above and beyond what I would expect. So the food - the coney dog(s), yeah I let them talk me into more than one, were solid. I liked the chili - it seemed unique. I was satisfied with the couple I had. BUT, this place is all about the history and the relationships. Steph, Leo and Dawn were probably the nicest people I’ve ever met. I’m not sure what Leo’s job really is other than getting the waitresses riled up a little. The workers are gritty and passionate about this place. It’s not the nicest, it’s not the best food, it’s not the best location. But I fell in love with it. I encourage EVERYONE to check it out. They’ve been around for over 100 years and there is so much goodness with the people and a great vibe! So my summary - go to this place and tip the staff.
