My favorite was the banana pudding and the shrimp toast. Must try both items if you come here. My partner, she really like the max and cheese and corn bread. The vibes were great as well and the service was exceptional. Hoping to join for brunch one of these days if I can get a seat.
Finally got to try this restaurant and it was so yummy. Luckily got a reservation and were seated promptly. The menu is a QR code which was easy to use and read. Got 4 appetizers and 3 mains which was enough for 4 people. The hood sushi was good, unique flavors and all. The shrimp toast was really good, a tad bit too done for me. Chicken wings has flavor but wish it was more juicy. Mac and cheese had a lot of flavor, better than expected. The mains were all amazing and unique in their own ways. Hood Sushi: 4/5 Shrimp Toast: 4.5/5 Chicken Wings: 4/5 Mac & Cheese: 4.5/5 Catfish: 5/5 Jambalaya: 5/5 Garlic Chicken: 5/5
I was really excited to try this place but unfortunately only found it okay. The caveat is that I’m comparing this place to southern food having lived in Atlanta, so it may be one of the best southern food restaurants in Seattle. For the food we tried deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, jambalaya, fried chicken, shrimp toast, Mac and cheese, fried eggplant, and banana pudding. None of this food was bad, but I found most of it pretty bland. I was also bummed by the banana pudding, the nilla wafers didn’t have time to soften and there was almost a bitter taste to something in the pudding? The service was good, cocktails were good, and the restaurant was really lively. If the food wasn’t so expensive I maybe still would’ve recommended it.
