This was a lovely place to dine out for a birthday. It would be ideal for a date night, time out with friends, or family. I do recommend getting reservations in advance especially on the weekends. It is not a restaurant that I would advise for small children however. The food is high quality, presented well, and fresh. The pasta is made from scratch and the focaccia bread that is brought out before the meal is outstanding (apparently made from a family recipe). I one of the the specials which was scallops, and it would have been nice to have had a couple more of them on the plate. Sadly the sauce seemed a bit bland and did little to add to the dish, but the vegetables and scallops were nearly cooked to perfection (I thought the scallops were just the tiniest bit overdone). My teens had pasta and that was divine! Just the ride side of al dente and the sauces for the bolognese and the plain tomato were complex and delicious. On the Corner of Virginia and Westlake Ave. Heads up: if you use Google maps make sure you chose the correct 2001 Westlake Ave. Otherwise you will end up in a residential area. Tried this place with some friends, this is what we ordered: 1.) Sautéd Calamari: unfortunately Calamari was over cooked and too chewy. The sauce was tasty. 2.) Carpaccio: meat was well cured and Arugula was fresh. This dish was great. 3.) Margarita Pizza add Salami. Pizza was a bit underdone tasty but crust was not crunchy enough. 4.) Salmon entree: my friend said the salmon was moist but was a bit too salty for her taste. 5.) Tiramisu was very moist and nice balance of flavors. Vivian our server was friendly and accommodating. Hence the 3rd star The restaurant remembered our special occasion which was a big for me.
