Cien Agaves is a must visit while in Old Town Scottsdale. Their happy hour is a work of art and so good and beyond affordable. All you need is $20, and you'll be good. Their guacamole is delicious! Love the pomegranate seeds on top. They also aren't stingy with their chips. Their margaritas are amazing and their tacos the best. For Mexican cuisine, especially for happy house, Cien Agaves is where it's at.
We were lured in by the cheese crisp. If you haven’t tried that item, do yourself a favor and order one. It’s a Sonoran/Arizonan specialty that is similar to pizza. This place did it well! They had a fun menu of other options and a good variety of drinks as well. Our server was good and the other staff seemed to be as well. Fun vibe and convenient location in the heart of Scottsdale.
Cien Agave was hopping the day before Halloween. The live musician was fantastic. So talented! Inside was lively and full but service was excellent in spite of the crowd. There are 3 seating areas… bar area, outside back patio and upstairs overlooking 1st Ave. We started with guacamole, salsa and chips. The chips were served hot and lightly salted. PERFECT! Guac was definitely homemade and had pomegranate seeds mixed in. Very festive! I had a carnitas taco, a baja fish taco and the Fajita Bowl with steak. Tacos were awesome; packed with pork and fish. The Fajita bowl was phenomenal. The steak was incredibly tender and the dressing was delicious. My husband had the Island Shrimp taco and Chicken Fajitas. Again, the taco was packed with shrimp. Fajitas had copious amounts of tender chicken and veggies. Our friend had the enormous Enchilada Special, her favorite. So huge she took half home.
