Chifa Tay Pa

Wow. I should have read the reviews first.. I called for takeout after looking at the menu on line. The first two things I ordered they don't have anymore, chicken spring rolls and chicken with string beans. My first disappointment. I then ordered a large container of wonton soup, an order of spare ribs and an order of chicken with eggplant. The wonton soup was good although the crispy noodles that go in the soup were stale. The spare ribs and chicken with eggplant were absolutely tasteless. I also asked for homemade duck sauce and home made mustard and received a few packets of duck sauce, not homemade and no mustard at all. Three things cost me $43 which ended up in the garbage! I will not be going back. How does this place survive??

The food is delicious if you order the Peruvian version. This restaurant is based on Peruvian Chinese cuisine and does not specialize in regular Chinese food. Therefore, if you order anything you would typically order in a Chinese restaurant it will not be great. However, if you order what they specialize in it’s 100% recommended. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and I love introducing it to new friends. They all agree that it’s the best tasting Asian food they’ve ever had. The prices are very high, but worth it as a treat in my opinion.

This place used to be good, I gave it one last chance and unfortunately not good at all, I do not recommend it, not only the food wasn’t good, all plates are expensive for what they are and the smell… forget it. I am very sorry because this place was very good years ago. They probably changed ownership.
