We ordered egg fried rice which served two. Not too many vegetarian options are available. The egg fried rice tasted a bit different from usual, but it was good. The atmosphere was simple and pleasant. 3.5 or 4 out of 5! Decent experience:)
My favorite Sichuan restaurant in town!! Unlike most Chinese restaurants, they have very friendly staff lol Decor is decent! And tables clean! Every dish is sooo good and authentic! It’s hard to find Sichuan restaurants who serve cold pot skewers. It’s also hard to find Sichuan restaurants who don’t wrap meat with too much starch. The seasoning is so authentic and good. It’s not the kind of spiciness that makes your ear smoke but very the kind that’s infused richly in meat. Recommend: ???? ????????cold pot skewers 冷锅串串 highly recommend!! It’s just like the ones I had in Chengdu ???????????? beef with rice cracker: rice crackers are so crispy, accompanied with thinly sliced tender beef. Delicious! Not recommend: yuxiang eggplant. The sauce doesn’t have any yuxiang flavor but garlic mixed with chili sauce.
Chengdu Taste has become our go-to restaurant in the International District. The cooks are from Sichuan and cook authentic Chinese style - not the "Americanized" version. This means the food is spicy, but in a very good way! You will need some tissues because your nose will run, but you'll be smiling through every bite. We've found it easier to get a table during lunchtime as weekend evenings it can get pretty packed. The Shredded Pork With Garlic Sauce (鱼香肉丝) is my favorite. It tastes just like I remember from my days in China. On our latest visit, we also had the stir-fried tripe, along with cold noodles and stir-fried green beans. The bill was under $100, which is not bad for three people in Seattle. If you are ever in town for a football or baseball game, you should definitely head over to the main gate of Chinatown and try it out. You won't be disappointed!
