The food was absolutely fine, but the experience wasn't the best. My family has always loved going to captain d's to reminisce the old times. However, this is the first captain d's I went to that gave us take out boxes as plates. We sat down and already disliked the experience because of it. The boxes were just covered in grease and it was overall not pleasant. I just don't understand how hard it was to give us something to eat on. Especially, if a family of 5 were dining in and the place was empty. It felt lazy on their part. I wish I could rate them higher if they put in that tiny more bit of effort.
We arrived at 11:00 right as they opened and our food was ready before I could put my wallet back in my purse. The fish was greasy and evidently sitting back there. I would rather wait 10 minutes and have freshly prepared food.
My 3 piece fish dinner was good. My wife’s country style white fish, not so much. Fries are good, slaw okay. Avoid the ear of corn.
