Camelia's Mexican Grill

Food was pretty good! I would say it's somewhere in between authentic and American style Mexican. Taco Tuesday were $1.99 tacos and I liked them! Definitely worth a stop! Just gave 4 stars because the service was pretty slow and the drinks were expensive! Definitely great for a food stop though.

Yesterday, after not finding reasonable parking in downtown Detroit, we decided to head North to some familiar choices. We detoured throughout Royal Oak, to go to Camelia's, since we hadn't been in some time. The food was fantastic, our server was pleasant, and she checked on us enough that we felt like welcomed customers. We enjoyed the experience. My only recommendation is that they NOT charge for the initial chips and salsa, like most restaurants. If they're trying to recoup from the water only, and no entree customer, they could do so, but comp it for customers who order meals.

Terrible food, slow rude service. My quesadillas were a soggy mess, my side of beans was about 10 beans and I got five soggy chips. Not worth the time or money. There are plenty of better Mexican options in this area. Don’t go here!
