BRU Burger Bar - Westerville

Service was really good. Burger was solid. Peach bread pudding was really good. The fries were not my favorite style. I did like the homade ketchup which is rare. It was sweeter than usual almost bbq sauce

My first choice isn’t a burger place, but I decided to give it a try as my husband had very high hopes from the pictures and reviews. Walking in to this place, it’s very nice and clean! We were sat on the second floor, which was nice and empty, not many people were around us. Looking at the menu there were a variety of specialty burgers. I went out of my comfort zone with the Stilton bleu cheese, and I’m glad I did. It was SO good the salty meat, creamy bleu cheese and sweet pear bacon jam blend in your mouth perfectly making the perfect bite! I paired my burger with the fries and house ketchup and ranch. The ketchup was really interesting… not like regular ketchup, slightly sweeter but good! This was the first time I ever used ketchup over ranch for fries. My husband got the Mexicali burger, also good but a slight kick of spice in there. He paired the chili cheese fries with his burger, no complaints as he cleared his plate. Went during burger week 2022. Best burger so far! Burgers were all correctly cooked to the ordered doneness. We all ordered the special discounted burger because we might have ordered that one even without the discount. The Bru fries with the house-made ketchup, BBQ sauce and black pepper mayo are recommended, if only for the trio of dipping options. Even the diner who doesn't eat condiments liked them. Similarly the ones who don't normally care that much for ketchup, BBQ, or mayo liked these versions. The fries themselves were not extraordinary, but the sauces really made them shine. Again, the burgers were the best we've had this week too. Tried the onion rings on a follow up visit and they were impressive looking but less than ideal. I'll stick with the fries.
