Hot Chicken Takeover

$54 dollars for chicken fingers for four people is a lot, but it is pretty good. Got takeout and was disappointed to find they didn't put in the side of slaw I paid for. The Mac n cheese is a pale shadow of the quality it used to be.

Chicken is the star of the show— a must try in Columbus! The chicken was very tender + juicy, the drums more so than the breast. We ordered “Hot”, which was not as spicy as I expected. If you have a medium/high spice tolerance hot is very manageable. The Mac and cheese was fine, typical Mac and cheese. Not pictured is the banana pudding— pretty good, but we wished there were banana pieces included. Definitely appreciated the free sweet tea and how kind the servers/workers were.

Presentation was lacking and food was mediocre. Friends had hyped the place up for me and I was excited to visit and have chicken and waffles. The waffles are dissatisfying and the syrup tastes like watered down diet syrup with no buttery flavor. The chicken was tasty but more heat could have been cooked into it or maybe if it was wetter. I never even tried the beans and simply threw them away because the rest was disappointing. The one positive note I will bestow is that the pickle was crisp and juicy. The sweet tea was equivalent to getting a sweet tea from McDonald’s.
