Bobby-Q BBQ Restaurant and Steakhouse

I was in Phoenix for work and I always look for restaurants that aren't national chains. Bobby-Q was within walking distance. I definitely wanted to try their menu. I walked in an immediately was able to be seated. They have a lot of tables,inside and outside, with seating also at their bar. I ordered Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Mac and Cheese with Loaded Mashed Potatoes. The meat is smoked for hours, I got a bite that was just too smoke flavored. I was disappointed but not put off. I enjoyed every bite after that one. The Brisket was fork tender and the ribs fell off the bone. The Loaded Mash Potatoes are absolutely covered in bacon, chives, cheese and sour cream. They were good, I discovered that I didn't like all of those toppings on mashed potatoes as much as I enjoy them on a baked potato. I believe my issue was the texture of mashed verses baked. Now the stand outs of the meal were the complimentary cornbread. Sweet, moist, hot and delicious. I don't know why she only came out with

Very good food and quick service. We did make a reservation. The meat trio combo was more than enough for us to share! The brisket egg rolls (not sure that was what they’re called) was good but really just meat in a wrapper. Tender though for being cooked again. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

My fiance and I came here with our little one for Father's day. The restaurant offers seating for reservations and walk-ins. The restaurant was packed and lively. The decor gives off cowboy vibes. The coconut mojito and the coconut margarita were very good. We also ordered the Cajun shrimp, three meat combo and the Bob's salad. The complimentary cornbread was a nice addition and yummy even for our picky 2 year old. The Cajun shrimp had a lovely balanced garlic butter it came served in that paired well with the bread it came with. The dressing on the salad paired well with the apples, gorgonzola cheese, cranberries and walnuts. Each of the meats offered with the three meat combo were well seasoned, moist and delicious. This is a great place to bring any dad for Father's day or to have a date night with your significant other. Vegetarian options: While this is a barbecue restaurant, there are vegitarian options for lacto vegitarians. The Bob's salad comes with chicken but you can order
