Beer Star

A favorite local hangout spot with friendly faces behind the counter. Always a good selection on tap and unique, seasonal finds in the cooler wall. I have a few random tips to share. The prices on quality cheese wedges here are pretty competitive compared to grocery stores. There is a covered patio out the back door which is easy to miss if you are not familiar with the area because the door isn't labeled. You can order food from the two neighboring restaurants which have a connecting space and bring it over to your seat at Beer Star (but not vice versa, because licensing). Finally, kids and well behaved dogs are allowed inside. Parking: Street parking & a couple of private stalls in back of building

I love to pop in here on Friday afternoon and pick up some cans to take home for the weekend. I love try new things, and the prices are great. Personally I love porters, sours, kombucha, cider and anything off the wall - this place always is a home run for me. I’ve picked up little snacks too, or brought a burger home from nearby. It’s been years since I had a seat and stayed. I’ll bring my pup on the walk with me and she’s allowed inside while I check out.

The beer selection is extensive and high quality! The facilities are spacious, clean and you have your choice of high chairs, booths at some tables, or typical low chairs. Beer Star allows you to bring food into the place. There's a pho place across the street, the bar is connected to pizza place and a burger joint. The beer and food can be a bit pricey but it is one of the most accommodating bars I've ever been to. Great for Happy Hour with friends.
